President of the Cambodia Rice Federation, attended and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Representative Office Auckland

On Friday, 20 March 2026, in Auckland, New Zealand, the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), led by Oknha Lay Chhun Hour, President of the Cambodia Rice Federation, attended and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Representative Office Auckland, led by Mr. Khuy Michael, Chairman of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce in Auckland, New Zealand. The ceremony was presided over and witnessed by H.E. Dr. Kao Thach, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge as CEO of the Agriculture and Rural Development Bank.

The objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to promote the export of Cambodian rice to the New Zealand market while establishing a cooperative framework for the exchange of market information and further strengthening business cooperation between both countries. It also includes promoting the export of Cambodian rice to island markets located in and around the New Zealand region.

Cambodia Rice Federation, under the technical guidance and leadership of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, has actively promoted exports and steadily expanded the presence of Cambodian rice in international markets, including New Zealand, which is an increasingly promising and rapidly growing market for Cambodian rice exports. In 2023, Cambodia exported 4,962 tonnes of rice to New Zealand, 5,077 tonnes in 2024 and 5,335 tonnes in 2025.
