Dr. Kao Thach Invited to Meet with the Khmer Aquaculture Group (KAG) and Investors

Phnom Penh: On March 11, 2026, Dr. Kao Thach, Government Delegate in charge as Director General of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), was invited to meet with the Khmer Aquaculture Group and investors to discuss investment opportunities for the Khmer Aquaculture Group (KAG).

The meeting aimed to discuss strategies and explore investment methods and participation in the development of the fish aquaculture sector in Cambodia.

The meeting also included the participation of the Vice President of the Techo Farmers Network Association in charge of aquaculture, as well as fish farm owners, input suppliers, and investors, totaling about 20 people.

During the meeting, a presentation was made about the company Pheng Ka Kwa, which is preparing to transform into the Khmer Aquaculture Group (KAG), a community company serving Khmer farmers that can increase the supply of local fish aquaculture products to replace future imports and expand the company’s scope with the goal of comprehensive cooperation involving investors, input suppliers, farmers, and end buyers.

In his speech at the meeting, Dr. Kao Thach gave guidance and encouragement to the Khmer Aquaculture Group (KAG) to organize and strengthen its internal structure to become a community company capable of shifting from price competition in the market to cooperative competition, as well as demonstrating a strong commitment to improving quality, reducing production costs to reasonable prices, maintaining common standards, and connecting all actors in the fish aquaculture sector.

The delegate doctor also encouraged the creation of natural vegetable gardens in villages of each province to sell local products including chicken, duck, fish, pork, cattle, vegetables, and fruits, which will help promote local products and facilitate the buying and selling of farmers’ products.
